Qoohi

Arcosanti, AZ

2018

Qoohi is an immersive media sculpture created by Juan Azulay for Cinemttr to accompany Sigur Rós in their Liminal Soundbath performances at iconic Arcosanti in Arizona (Paolo Soleri’s utopian city) as part of the FORM Festival. Designed as a digital, interactive solar flare, the installation responded in real time to the band’s soundboard, generating endless color sequences and patterns via a custom C++ interface. Produced by Maavven and Cinemttr, the project featured contributions from LED artist Pete Thornbury, creating a fully immersive audiovisual experience that merged performance, light, and sound. Completed and performed in 2018
